shame for Boggo here, i think missing those early chances made him too tentative and he made a lot of errors, putting shots wide or long. The break to deal with the cleaner (for those that weren't there they decided to clean the centre court stands with industrial hoovers during the match! at one point the cleaner then started singing!) actually seemed to help alex, and the service game he played after that was one of his best. After the rain break he came out with a much more aggressive mind set, but Reynolds game up with the big serves and shots to take in to a breaker. Then Alex reverted a bit in the TB and tried to play it safe, at one point, and i remember it was a big point, he put a cross court backhand long which really he should have just hit flat it, it's one of his best shots, but clearly he just didn't feel confident about it and it cost him. Reynolds didnt look confident either mind, when he cam out for resumption he took 4 bottles of water to his chair, the sign of a man expecting it to go to a 3rd?
Not sure what next for alex, he's played well on the grass so far, but coming up against top seed in both FQR's had been a bit of a pain, esp as Sugita got moved indoors. I don't know when they will make the decision on the Wimby QWC's. i guess he'll have to wait for that before deciding if he wants to try Eastbourne Qualies.

It's hard to think of any Brit (other than perhaps Wardy, who should have a MD WC anyway) more likely to get through Wimbledon qualifying than Boggo (you could argue perhaps Bloomers, or since he's done it before, Eaton), so they probably won't give him a QWC. I hope they prove me wrong!

do we know what players are getting the main draw singles and doubles wildcards yet? has it been announced? i have heard daniel cox is in for a shout
If the LTA keep to their minimium WR 250 for consideration thing, then in the men singles, only James Ward can be considered for a MD WC. The only exception they allow is for very good, in form young players ( none to me are good enough to be thrown into the main draw ).
Wild Card Qualies play offs draw is due out today, Main draw WC's to be announced tomorrow
Is that the same for the Qualifying draw WCs, so we are meant to try and join the dots by looking at who is not in WC Q play-offs ?
By the way, I know it was stated very clearly before ( in the WC recommendations document ? ) that the WC play-offs would be on Wednesday to Friday ( which seemed sensible in case anyone likely to be considered for these was playing unexpectedly well elsewhere and still in competition on Monday / Tuesday )
( edit : ah, don't think that was what I saw before but that document from Steven says the same )

was Cox outclassed by Ward or could he not adjust to the grass court. I am pleased he has worked his way up the rankings but most of these were 15k tournies. Is the next step a step too far?
Always nice to get the chance to watch the Brits on TV, would have appreciated the chance to see Dan/Wardy rather than Tursunov/Lopez. Do wonder why the court schedule seems to never put the British players on the televised court, assume its for the international audience of ES but I rarely see other tournaments giving their local WCs such consistantly crap scheduling.
