I saw Sloane playing MldB at Nottingham, and although she tried to adapt to playing on grass more than the Portugese (who was content to just trade heavy groundies from the back, and offered virtually no variety unlike the American) her front court game needs a lot of work, so at this stage Naomi must have a realistic chance of an upset.
Sounds like your analysis may have been spot on, but that's an impressive scoreline, a really good win

Well done to Naomi, she's really had a pretty good year with the odd unexpected loss.
She'll be up to GB No 5 in Monday's rankings and the 10 points she will have earned for qualifying here could take here past her CH of WR 231 the next week, I think there is fair chance of more good things from her either here or in the following weeks.
Naomi gets a good draw against talented French youngster Caroline Garcia (WR188), who was a set and 4-1 up against Maria Sharapova at the French, but hasn't played any senior tournaments on grass. All the other Brits play tomorrow
