Looks like Bloomers softened up Bozo quite effectively then, though to be fair to the Serb, if he had to retire dehydrated in those conditions, the chances are he was suffering some kind of illness in the first place.

Ward plays Tim Smyczek (WR 169) in the first round. Very winnable.
He has beaten him before, 2 & 4 in 2009, albeit on green clay in Savannah. Not a bad draw under the circumstances anyway.
Only Evo is due to play singles tomorrow.

Morning guys, long couple of days in notts, so much hanging around. got to say overall i don't think the organisation was great. i know rain delays throw a spanner in the works, but we were kept waiting for ages whilst they decided to wait and see if the rain was going to stop and play on grass or play indoors. we didn't even know which match on we'd be. Eventually Alex must have got about 20 mins notice before he was due to play.
as for the match Alex played well but Sugita was on fire, my tweet that got cut off went to say that if the match had been on grass alex would have won. it was Sugitas movement at the back of the court that won the match and on grass there is now way you can move like that. Alex fought well, came from a break back in both sets. saved 3 mp's in the TB too but it just wasn't to be.
