R1: KEOTHAVONG, Anne (GBR) 108 v BROADY, Naomi (GBR) WC 253 R1: WEBLEY-SMITH, Emily (GBR) WC 241 v STEPHENS, Sloane (USA) 143 R1: WATSON, Heather (GBR) 117 v CZINK, Melinda (HUN) Q 282 R1: ROBSON, Laura (GBR) WC 237 v SAVINYKH, Valeria (RUS) 138 R1: OBRIEN, Katie (GBR) WC 221 v VOEGELE, Stefanie (SUI) 160 R1: MURRAY, Samantha (GBR) Q 730 v LARCHER de BRITO, Michelle (POR) 170
Czink was ranked as high as 37 in 2009 and has won 16 of her last 17 matches, having come into Nottingham qualifying after taking the Indian Harbour Beach 50K title earlier this month, so this looks like a tough draw, though the Hungarian has only won one main draw match at Wimbledon in 6 attempts.
Larcher de Brito, ranked as high as 76 in 2009, probably needs little introduction.

Definitely a tough draw for Heather - I saw a bit of Melinda Czink in the final of that Indian Harbour Beach tournament and she was playing well. Given that Heather was playing on the clay only a few days ago and Czink has qualified I wouldn't be surprised if Heather lost that one.
Anne and Laura probably favourites to win their matches and if one other Brit gets through round 1 it won't be a bad effort
Hoping Murrays tricky game could get the better of de Brito. Failing that, I'd say Webbers and Katie arent massively out of their matches, Voegele can be very hit and miss and Sloane may struggle to get down to the lower balls having switched from clay so quickly and obviously inexperienced.

Heather likes to hit the ball one short one long one short one long..... I hope it work vs Melinda Czink. Or she needs some bigger shorts.
Yes, he couldn't travel with Laura any more. And by all accounts the new French set of coaches have already improved her movement massively, which is so important in the women's game.
Isn't her old coach now working with Eleanor Dean? I was surprised that she didn't enter RG Juniors.

Heather likes to hit one ball short one ball long, and De Brito pattern is very similar. She likes to hit forehand cross court short and backhand down the line long. Murrays has a chance to win.

I think Laura left her ex-coach was a mistake.
I don't think Heather's game matches up particularly well against Melinda's hard-hitting style, but hopefully I'm proved wrong she will find a Czink in her armour
