In the new rankings today, the WTA has Bains confirmed as the British #6 player at WR 253. I guess that's it then for now... until she switches back again. I wonder if we will here the reasons some time for the switch back to GB allegiance after all these years? As speculated earlier, presumably it is to do with relationships with Australian tennis authorities, which if is the case, means that bridges have been burned at both ends. I guess this story will run a bit over the grass court season, for now Naiktha is taking to clay in Italy.
She does like a tournament or two, having 32 singles counters as compared to the most by Brits - Heather 26 and Katie B 25 ( though both planned on having one more after last week ). The other leading Brits are in the low 20s for counters.
