The second game of the match, with Dan serving, went to 7 deuces and Gard eventually won the game. In the fifth game, Gard served and again won after 7 deuces. At this stage Dan probably knew he didn't have enough to beat Gard, and the following game scores suggests he wasn't fully committed from there on.
