Like Dan Smethurst though, clay is where Morgan certainly tends to get the best of his results. So I'd say his performances here are not unexpected. It will be following the clay that will lead to any rise up the rankings,

(5) Bloomers has lost the 1st set to (2) Dasnières de Veigy 6-4. I must admit, I expected him to get mashed by the Frenchman on this surface, so it's good that he seems to be making it competitive at least.

SF: (1) David Rice & SeanThornley WR 683 lost to (3) Pablo Martín (ESP) & Morgan Phillips WR 833 by 2-6 6-7(3)
SF: (4) Malek Jaziri & Carlos Poch (TUN/ESP) WR 1006 defeated (2) James Cluskey (IRL) & Marcus Willis WR 812 by 6-3 7-6(6)
You don't need me to tell who will contest the final, which could've been 75% Brit & 25% Irish, but will instead be 50% Spanish, 25% Tunisian & only 25% Brit!
Conditions for the dubs were absolutely horrible(very very windy and cold). Morgan was conversing with his partner in Spanish, and even berating himself at times in Spanish.

And the 25%/25% Hispano-Tunisian partnership has it:
