I had hoped the fact that three players retired in R1 today might mean there was just some temporary bug going around, but Lisa says: "I had an injection in my knee last week but already bought flight ticket so thort may as well try,at 3.2 in 1st set my quad went :("
Very unlucky but she did very well to win the 1st set if that was the case, hopefully the fact that she managed to carry on for that long means it wasn't too serious and she eventually stopped before she did any much extra damage. No fun when you've bothered to travel that far though.
Yashina won two 10Ks recently, so she could be a potential banana skin.

Yes, Naomi joining Emily in an assault on the top 250 ( Laura too but somehow I don't think that's really an immediate issue for her )
Current WR 250 is on 218 ranking points.
Naomi's 24 points so far here would take her to 210 points in the rankings on a week Monday, currently equivalent to WR 257 and just behind Emily who in running is currently standing on 215 ranking points.
Re Wimbledon, after this week the only points they have to defend by 6th June ( the cut-off re the 250 target ) are points on 6th June itself ( 10 for Naomi and 4 for Emily )
One more win for Emily this week should do the business. One more win for Naomi not so, since she would add 10 further points but still has that 10 to come off on 6th June. The title here would probably do the business for her though
