Week 14 - Futures F2 ($10K) - Khon Kaen, Thailand - Hard

lets not forget evo is actually ranked higher than udomchoke, and is in decent form

Good point, and I'd love to be proved wrong (not by Evo going out to Barry in the semis, obviously!)

Danai has been 'accommodating' in the past too - Boggo has beaten him in Challenger Finals twice, at Sunderland in 2005 and Granby in 2008.

Yet another Final for Evo smile.gif

SF: (4) Dan Evans WR 313 beat (Q) Sam Barry (IRL) WR 1239 by 3 & 5 smile.gif

FI: (4) Dan Evans WR 313 v (1) Danai Udomchoke (THA) WR 314 (CH 77 in 2007)

Udomchoke is on a 9-match winning streak having won THA F1 last week and on a 14-match winnng streak in Futures (since losing in R1 in AUS F13 last November), having won Cambodia F1 in January too - in between those wins, he reached the semis in Caloundra but hasn't done too well in the other Challengers he has played. In fact, going back to last October when he won to Futures in Japan, he is on a 24-match winning streak in Asian Futures!

Can Evo (who is now 15-3 since the start of March and in his 7th Futures Final in just under 7 months!) end Udomchoke's various winning streaks in his first meeting with him and thus end his own 8-Final losing streak?

Yes, it's about time he won one of these finals and thought about going back on the Challenger circuit on a regular basis. Easier said than done of course, but there seems to be plenty of evidence that he is really knuckling down after his various problems of the last year or so, just as OEM implied after interviewing him, and it's great to see smile.gif

It is indeed. I've always had a liking for Evo, though at times he made it a bit difficult!

An okay week for him. I'm not over the moon because frankly he's better than this!

Good luck in China, china.

From @jamessymac on twitter (an AM.commer, I think - or is he the James who posts here too?) - a pic of the three Brits in Thailand last week looking happy:

If you click the 'back to album' link from there, there are a couple of pics of Evo pre and post-Final too.

It's actually '@jamesymac' and, well, I won't actually answer your question as surely this response is affirmation enough wink

3) Please forgive me for accusing you of being an AM.commer biggrin - I was just thrown by the fact you hadn't posted the link here too!
