Great opportunity for 8 points but then Miss Oudin awaits in round 2. Oudin hates clay but would still be a very short priced favourite.

It looks like play was rained off yesterday so Oudin v Weinhold still hasn't been played yet. The winner is due to play Jo in the 'feature match' at 00.30 BST.

Weinhold v JoKo it is.
Weinhold is no mug and won a challenger not long ago, and has just taken out Oudin in 3 sets in about 2 hours.

Bit of an 'eeek' rather than 'believe' for poor old Mel. (I poached the 'eeek' from TF I confess)

I still remember her being knocked out by Laura in Wimby - 1st round, I believe.

Just been digging a bit. Weinhold lost to Mel in a 3 setter last year, so obviously knew her game a bit.
More interestingly she also lost to Joko in Kansas 50k last October - in 3 sets. So to my mind that makes her doubly dangerous.
Except and this is a big except, she will be more tired.
