Google chrome did an exzcellent job on the translation of  http://www.tennis.org.cn/  but there is no mention of this tournament, which is strange....

Every time there's a Brit in a tournament in China, I check that site and there never seems to be any up to date tournament news on it. cry.gif

And to think we complain about the LTA site ... (not quite so much these days, admittedly!)

We just might get to follow her doubles match soon; another famous junior is having a bit of a tussle and it may or may not go to 3 sets.

Well Nop's match finished over half an hour ago (she lost) and Chang/Robson  v some mercenaries have been  showing on the board for an age but still no action. It will probably disappear soon and not be covered or cancelled or something,

Information is going to be slow coming out of Wenshan. I called the tournament office and nobody speaks English.

Only 1.4p a minute with Skype, and a very clear line.  If anbody speaks Chinese, the number is  86 876 2122839

If one was of the worrying type, the fact that Laura's doubles has been taken off the live scores on Bet365, might be cause for concern.
As the only one of the four that played singles today. 1. Has she picked up an injury or 2. Withdrawn from the doubles to concentrate on the singles.
other possibilities but those appear more likely to me.

Unfortunately I don't speak Chinese, and her doubles match has now disappeared from the Live in Play on Bet 365 where it lingered for 30 mins or so. (so I'll have to get on with some work after all !!)

Lets go with 'other possibilities' - Bet 365 technical glitches appear more likely to me smile

Just rang up Bet365 and the match has been delayed and will start at 9am. That probably means Laura has been involved in a long match and asked for more rest. On the positive side it may mean that she won that long match, and wanted to make sure she was properly rested knowing that she had a QF of singles tomorrow.

That was a bit of a struggle in the second set, but got the job done eventually.
Hopefully more importantly she will be playing 2 matches tomorrow and not one.

Not quite as easy as last week but pretty convincing in the last two sets:

L16: Laura Robson WR 238 beat Cagla Buyukakcay (TUR) WR 177 by 6-7(3) 6-2 6-2 biggrin

QF: Laura Robson WR 238 v (Q) Ani Mijacika (CRO) WR 389 (CH 224 last July)

I'm confused, wasn't Julia reporting the QF? She won 7-5 in the second set?
