Not a great draw for Heather. She will play Morita of Japan who has had a good season and the winner plays Bartoli who just made final of IW.

Now, I just looked at that draw and couldn't find Heather's name anywhere. So panicked!!!! I will now go and clean my specs and take another look biggrin

Ah, silly me, I only looked at 1st page of draw.

I think she will be pretty evenly matched with Morita. And as for Bartoli, well, she'll give a her 'a run for her money'. Not impossible I would say !!!

Completely forgot about Bally which is unforgivable.

Certainly a better draw for Bally than Heather.

Bally lost twice to Bammer last year (Fed Cup and Bronx) but the Austrian veteran appears to be on the slide somewhat so Bally should fancy her chances of stopping that series. Ayumi has been a pain for British players over the last 5 years (12-3 I think) but my hunch is that Heather will cope well with her speed around the court and general style of play.

well, at least heather won't get overpowered. I just fear that morita may play a game style relatively similiar to heather, but just do it to a higher level at this point in both their careers. but we shall see.
