I'm not sure, I have an inkling to say no.

Actually if play is begun on friday in qualies and he is still in the competition here then yes he would be entitled to a SE.

At the moment there are at least 2 higher ranked players who could also potentially be playing on Friday and therefore be ahead of Liam in the SE queue.

I assume the players you are referring to are:

- Palacios-Siegenthale, who is 1st Alt for next week and is already in the QFs this week
- Gemouchidis, not on the original entry list for next week, who is playing the no. 3 seed Struff today
- Carballes-Baena, who is 2nd Alt for next week and is playing Diez today

So Liam needs the latter two players to lose today or one of them to lose and P-S to scrape in as a last minute DA, or P-S and C-B both to scrape in as last minute DAs. That's without taking into account any player still playing elsewhere in Europe who might also be eligible for a SE in Reus next week.

Palacios-Siegenthale made it through but Gemouchidis and Carballes-Baena both lost, so there should be a spare SE place for Liam in Reus next week unless anyone in an event elsewhere has a prior claim.

As far as I can see, none of the players above Liam in the Q draw are still in action (except Palacios-Siegenthale) so should be looking good for an SE (Giner lost in Qs this week, Waite lost in R32, Torroni lost in R32 in italy, and the other 2 spaniards lost today)

Liam has just tweeted to say that he got the SE for next week.

Sadly Liam lost 2-6 6-0 0-6, not his best day at the office, but you can't win them all.

Wow, quite a scoreline, fluctuating seems to be one word for it  disbelief

Pity, since it's as always semis that start getting you really decent points in futures.

But another good week, 2 more points anyway to Liam for his 6 wins here and less work to do next week  smile
