*Interestingly, Bet365 seems to be covering Courts 1 & 4 today, which is a damned sight more than can be said for the LTA's British tennis Twitter "service"! disbelief

They've now tweeted to the world this and the Brit women's results.  Maybe they read here   smile

Or started looking at Bet365 themselves! wink

First second-round pairing now known:

R2:  Dan Cox WR 290 vs (3) Dmitry Tursunov (RUS) WR 100 bleh

Good experience for Dan...

Willis and Smethurst retired at 5-1 down. I didn't see the match but as I was walking to the courts Dan was leaving with a pack of ice on his shoulder so presume that's why they pulled out and hopefully he'll still be OK for the singles.

I actually wanted to carry on but carl made the official decision with the doctors to force me off. Looking back at it, it was the smart decision. But im a competitor and unless it feels like threatening i dont want to lose.
Even though it was like getting an electric shock through my heart. Maybe i need to learn when to stop.

Best decision to stop playing and I hope it's not too serious.
Take care of yourself.

Dan S no longer on the oop. I guess that means he's had to withdraw?

He wasn't on the original OoP last night, as far as I could see, and (unusually) they are playing R1 over 3 days (only 12 of the 16 R1 matches are scheduled to be completed by the end of today, 5 yesterday and 7 today), so hopefully that just means they've given him another day to recover.

Alexandra takes Lammer to doose in the second game. Looking like it's going to be a good match so far.

Alexandra's all over him so far. Playing solid but unspectacular tennis, but it's proving more than enough at the moment.

I've never heard of a sports person who went from M to F!   Perhaps I'm surfing the wrong websites!

But thanks for your updates, Jeff, and Welcome if these are your first posts

Cheers
