biggrin

Given that Milton is the 'future' and has done very well in Futures over recent months, I shouldn't be happy about how convincing this result is, but I am - I still think Alex is the more likely of them to ever reach the top 100 and he hasn't got so long to do it.

Ha, had lectures to go to I'm afraid cry

Could pop back over know but I guess most of the matches will have finished so probably wouldn't be worth it.  Was next to Greg and Leon Smith for most of Boggo's match and they weren't exactly over the moon with his performance.  I'll try to write a bit more later if I get any time.

He played quite well and it was a pretty fair scoreline but Milton didn't really turn up. Greg was saying how disappointed he was that Boggo was basically the same player he was when he was 17. I couldn't hear the whole conversation but he wasn't impressed with Boggo's physique, saying he didn't look 26, which seems strange when you consider Davydenko's success who isn't that big either. He also mentioned that his ball toss usually goes lower when under pressure and was hoping Milton could get into the match to see how Boggo would react. As it was Boggo pretty much coasted through, but he might have it a bit tougher tomorrow.

When I left Fitzy was on serve in the early stages of the 3rd set and it was a pretty even match from what I saw. Willis won comfortably but I'm not sure how Bugby made it into the draw when he didn't even make it to the FQR. Guess all the other LLs had gone or weren't by the courts and he was the only one available to play on short notice.

It must be quite irritating for the LTA that Boggo serially bashes all the other Brits. I can understand Rusedski and Smiths frustration when you consider that Boggo only has decent results against other Brits, but they should accept the fact that he is by far still our second best player. Ironically Rusedskis prodigy, Ward has achieved far less than Boggo ever has.

Well, ive honestly got no idea how i lost today.
But i can try to summarise for you guys.

First set was close and i edged it breaking him crucially at 5-4. Then second set i had break points more than one in every single one of his service games, but i couldnt get the decisive break. He kept coming up with massive serves, and i only played one poor point on a break point in the whole match.
Then 2-2 in the third i hit a serve and my dampner flew off, (its red) and i couldnt find it, tried to for a while. Opponent rushed me, and i had to use a broken one, which was like having nothing for the rest of that game, subsequently got broken as i double faulted twice and nearly fences 2 forehands.
Found the dampner at the end of the game but the damage was done by then. 3 hours and a battle but i was absolutely gone when i came off as i dominated him and should never have lost.

Double was a bit of a none event for some reason. I was tired and bloomers was struggling a little.
