Ah, steven, brit-bashing streaks are there to be broken. Mind you, it will take some performance to do it! A good week all round for Morgan and Matthew :)

Keep it up is all I can say!

True, I wouldn't bother listing them if they weren't there to be broken! smile.gif I'd be shocked (but delighted) to see Short break this one today though.

Presumably there were weather issues on Friday since the QFs are on Saturday's OoP as are the either / or semis.  The winners of Morgan and Matthew's QFs meet in the SFs.

QF: Morgan Phillips GBR WR 526 beat (Q) Andres Artunedo Martinavarr ESP WR 1196 6-3 6-3 smile
QF: (Q) Matthew Short GBR WR 991 lost to Kamil Capkovic SVK WR 603 1 & 4 cry

SF: Morgan Phillips GBR WR 526 lost to Kamil Capkovic SVK WR 603 3-6 6-3 1-6 cry

Really good effort from Morgan in the SF there, still a pretty good week in Portugal overall!

Capkovic takes his Brit-bashing streak to 14, the second longest ongoing streak behind de Chaunac's 17 - he last lost to a Brit in Andijan in 2005, when Jonny Marray beat him while there was a civil war raging in the city!

However, this was a very decent effort by Morgan, evidenced by the fact that he is the first Brit to even take a set off Capkovic since that streak started!
