How can you expect a tornado? They aren't predictable like a hurricane.

Updated news on JoKo's citizenship from Weybridge Tennis Academy where she has been training/ associated with:

"WTA has welcomed a new player into its fold during the last few months with Johanna Konta joining forces with Justin to help push her current Sony Ericsson WTA ranking of 244, to as high as it will go! Johanna is a former top 11 in the world junior and is tipped for great things during the next couple of years. Currently Australian, Johanna has applied for British citizenship as she has been resident in the UK for over 6 years. Jo brings a wealth of experience and a huge amount of professionalism to WTA and she will be pleased to help out with our own future stars when she is not travelling!"

I won't start a new thread but JoKo lost in her next tournament in Mexico 4-6 6-4 7-6 (14-12).
To say that was a gutwrencher is probably no exaggeration. It was against none other than M'Lady as Indy would call her.

Good spot! That was WR 247 (JoKo) v WR 248, so you might have expected a close one - though of course, they're both under-ranked, particularly Mladenovic.

It is pathetic that Konta hasn't been given citizenship yet. We can't get rid of terrorists, we import illiterate peasants with values that are hostile to our traditions, we play host to the Gaddafi boys and Saudi princes who murder their servants in hotel rooms, but we don't lay out a welcome mat for highly desirable immigrants like Konta. The whole policy should be redesigned to put this country's needs first.

Strong words, and to some extent I agree with you, but there has to be a balance, but yes JoKo after being a British resident for 6 years should as a dead cert get citizenship this August.

F BABOS (HUN) / KONTA (AUS) defeated HARKINS (USA) / ROTTMANN (AUT) 6-3 6-4

at least some success in the dubs

Babos is a great doubles partner to have, and JoKo is of Hungarian origin so a good combination.

Just for clarification, this doubles final is for this week, i.e. week 10 - Irapuato, Mexico ( 25K) which no doubt explains JoKo not appearing in Week 11 Bahamas ( 100K + H ) qualifying if that was indeed her previous intention.

Ah, I see we added JoKo's singles info for Mexico to this thread and it's just ended up very confusing ( well, for me ! ) when the doubles info followed on top of that.

I think it is best to keep just one tournament per thread, even if it initially appears it's only going to be a one post thread, just to avoid possible confusion and also for future reference back.
