Evo's conquerer ended up winning the whole tournament, maybe next time instead of dismissing our players, maybe it's just the fact they ended up playing someone who happened to play lights out tennis for the week?
Fair enough in pointing out Maxime Authom's success and thanks for that, it does certainly add context to Evo's defeat this week. Authom has done well to win the tournament, beating Brugues who he lost to in the previous week's France F2 quarter finals. I also note that in the previous round last week he beat De Sheppers who has had GB Future success this year and has gone on to reach this week's France Challenger final.
However, I would say on the face of it, Evo's loss to Authom did not look good at the time and Evo's was one of a number of what looked very disappointing men's singles defeats early last week. To me, this was quite naturally commented on adversely. I note that you yourself commented earlier in this thread after a number of defeats including Evo's : "Wow, turning into a really bad week", which I thought perfectly fair comment. I didn't see anyone being "dismissed" ( specific comments re Evo seemed more sadness and frustration ).
While many of us actually do try and look at other player's records and put wins / losses into context it must be reasonable ( and part of a tennis forum such as this ) to give thoughts and comment both positively and negatively on how we see players' performances and progress.
It is undoubtably true that Evo for one has not shown good form of late, certainly not near what he has shown in the past, and folk quite fairly also commented on this, but as I said with frustration more than anything.
Speaking personally, I try and encourage - yes, dismiss - no, speak as I see fairly - yes.
