RE: Week 6 Futures - France F3 ($10k+H) - Bressuire (Hard)

It took me so long to write that last post that Steven has already answered the question, so the fact that it is a +H gives him an extra 2 points.

Yep and 15 and 27 points if Liam was to be losing finalist or title winner respectively.

And if he achieves either of these he "will be" GB No 18 or 17 on Monday week   wink

Tremendous already on what he has done this week.

Doubles final:

(WC) Medy Chettar & Valentin Nourrissat (FRA/FRA) WR 1281+ lost to (2) David Rice & Sean Thornley WR 1030 by a walkover!  winner.gifbiggrin

I presume they nevertherless pick up the full complement of points?

P.S.  Well done, Liam!

Well, Brugues-Davi was ranked as high as 218 last May and won France F2 last week, so he is on an 8-match winning streak in which he has lost just one set (in last week's Final) but he did lose to both Burnham Arlidge and Dan Smethurst last year, albeit on grass, which I imagine is not his favourite surface.

Looking a bit at  Brugues' ATP info let's just say this one is a toughee !!

For a start the guy is probably quite a bit underrranked.  He is a 25 yo who missed the second half of last year, not competing after the end of June when he was WR 228, having achieved his CH of 218 a few weeks earlier. He has had other big spells out earlier in his career.

This year he reached the Australian Open FQR, beating WR 147 ( Kudryatvtsev RUS ) and WR 246 before losing to WR 288 ( Stadler GER ).  Just last week as 8th seed he won France F2 10K + H.

You never really know with a young players starting to break through, but...hmm.gif

Wouldn't you just know it?  Brugues is the only seed left in the bloody draw, Jonathan Dasnières de Veigy (2) & Fabrice Martin (4) having both contrived to lose their respective QFs today! disbelief

Hey that's all good.   Liam's first final against a non seed   smile

As I intimated though, looks a toughee in the semi and be interesting to see how to gets on.

@Liambroady: Got eaten 6-3 6-0. Guy was like me just better. After he won the first he didn't look back!

No disgrace at all to a guy who was possibly the realistic tournament favourite from the start.

A great week for Liam which offers so much promise for the future  smile
