Very pleased he's decided to get on with more tennis straightaway but don't regard this as an easy way back. Still, probably what he needs - plenty of tough matches if he can keep going.

I am also glad that he is decided to get straight back into the awing of things. I doubt that sitting at home for three weeks would have been the best way to get over losing in the final.

Lets hope he has a better year in ATP 500 and 250 events than he did last year (3 second rounds, 1 quarter final and 1 final)

Ouch. Not a problem when he is playing well, but. . . will he?

You've got competition for 7th seeding, however Youzhny wins as he's the no. 6!
Good news for Andy, as Looby has just lost to Dodig in straight sets, wherever he's playing.

Poor Youzhny, he doesn't get a mention in the OP and now he' s not credited with his proper seeding, aww  smile

Andy and Jamie have just missed out on the doubles. The last on site acceptance went to a combined rank of 58 where as Andy and Jamie have a combined rank of 59.

5 first round matches tomorrow. Unsurprisingly Andy is not one of them.

According to his official site he is travelling to Rotterdam this evening. I read somewhere that his first match will be on Wednesday.

Well he isn't on Tuesday's OOP so he will indeed play Wednesday (ditto Mayer v Lopez)

Pity   cry

Out of interest, I take then that on site acceptance is based on more up to date rankings ( i.e. last week's combined 59 ) than the entry list rankings which had them at a combined 69 based on pre Australian Open rankings ?

I believe, and I am open to correction on this, that on site acceptances are based on the rankings as of the Monday prior to the tournament so 31.01 in this case. My belief that this is the case is consitent with the fact that the last on site acceptance was 58 which tallies with Benneteau (40) and Tsonga (18)

Gulbis has pulled out of singles and you would presume doubles as well. So a chance for Andy/Jamie?
