Very easily - if you're a Brit! Seriously, believe it or not, the letter "y" was originally a vowel. In standard English, it is now regarded as a consonant, yet it frequently functions as a vowel & should arguably be considered at the very least a semi-vowel. In a number of other western European languages, it is called their equivalent of "Greek i", cf. "i [pronounced "ee"] grec" in French & "i [also pronounced "ee"] griega" in Spanish, no doubt stemming from the fact that the letter was known to the Ancient Greeks as"upsilon" & pronounced "ipsilon" in modern Greek. Hope that sheds a bit of light.

There are quite a lot of nicknames used for players on this forum, some of which may be a little obscure but folk here learn them over time. Hope it is not too confusing
All the results, certainly at least for the British players, will be up once found out from other sources. It doesn't seem anyone from this forum is attending in Sheffield.
