R2: BALTACHA, Elena (GBR) 55 v HENIN, justine (BEL) 11 13
R2: KEOTHAVONG, Anne (GBR) Q 118 v PETKOVIC, Andrea (GER) 30 33

Anne has played Petkovic twice before, beating her 6-2 7-5 in Glasgow in 2006 and losing to her 6-0 6-3 in Linz in 2010. In that time Anne's ranking fell from 135 to 146 while Petkovic moved up from 256 to 36.

Both Bally and Anne were favourites for their matches but as Indiana said they both needed to be won against lesser players but ones in form.
100 points in the bank now, 160 for Anne but with little or no chance to bank anymore. Anne's match is not completely out of reach but it certainly would be a huge shock if she was to prevail in that one.

Hi Phil, do you mean Bally though? Anne probably has a better chance of victory vs Petkovic than Bally vs Henin?

I agree, I didn't talk about Bally's chances as hers are even more remote than Anne's. I would give Bally about a 5% chance and Anne about a 15% chance.

Someone has faith in me! was just rushing off to work, so registered a milestone passed as in set victory for Anne. The full results were even broadcast on classic FM news as the only sports item!
