I guess in the end the ladies have just about held their end up.  Our 3 seeds are through to their QF places in the all Brit ties and of the four difficult ties for Brits against quite a lot higher ranked seeds, one has come through.

I'd call it par.

Nice convincing wins for Naomi and Lisa after being stretched quite a bit more by Lucy Brown and Jennifer Ren respectively in the previous round.

Well the top four seeds got through but I wouldn't be surprised if the seeding started to break down at this point and the 4th seed was the one to come out on top.

Tinjic has beaten some decent players in the last few months of 2010 (Domachowska, Thorpe, Botto, Laine), so was never going to be easy. Hope Anna can get the win and keep moving up...
