A disappointing day for the men indeed. Evo played very well against Sidorenko, but his more agressive play meant more mistakes especially near the end. The Frenchman was more consistant and that eventually won the day. Similar to De Scheeper's win over a temperamental Ignatik, who spurned 4 match points and lost on a very disputed line call on match point. Poor linesperson!
Chris Eaton was as you would expect at the moment, hit and miss. If only the court had been a bit bigger! Is opponent played very well though, and Chris was often left stranded at the net against someone who not only had a good serve, but passing shots as well.
Baker did find the going tougher as his match prgressed so perhaps he was indeed hampered by a stomach injury. No time outs or trainers were called as I can remember. Ryderstedt did play pretty well though, and Jamie was obviously diappointed the way things went in the end after getting back level.
So British interest ends at the QF stage which is unusual in Glasgow. But the better guys won on the day.
Jamie had his Stomach taped up I noticed. Pretty sure that was done before the match, as I didnt see anything happen during it. Mind you I had more than one eye on Daneikas comeback on the other side of the hall

Yes, I'd already got the impression from Jamie's tweet that it was more an ongoing thing than anything that had particularly happened in his match :
"Sickening loss today. Played some good tennis. On the right track but would love to be fully fit. No turkey next week for me."
