I know it's academic now, but the match to produce the R2 opponent for the winner of Wardy's match has just been won by Delpo after 3 h 20 mins 6-7(5) 7-6(9) 7-6(3)!

Wow, I didn't expect Mayer to beat del Potro!

James has just tweeted:

Hmm, if James feels better, OK, but I wouldn't read much into Mayer beating DelPo at this stage of his comeback.

Probably fair enough, but having outlasted F-Loppy in that 3 hour+ match the other day suggested Delpo wasn't too rusty!
