L32: (WC) James Ward WR 201 v Florian Mayer (GER) WR 37
Not the worst possible draw - Dan Cox & the Bogster both managed to take sets off Mayer in 2009.
The winner of this match with play the winner of (6) F-Loppy v (WC) del Potro in R2. I'm sure Wardy would like the chance to finish Feliciano off properly this time, but obviously Mayer v del Potro is the more likely R2 match-up.

Expect an Australian to get a wild card into Queen's in exchange for here.
Would like to see more of this, especially at the slams. It's time the All England Club got with the times and caught up with the rest of the slams on the wild card issue.

They did very briefly. They had a reciprocal agreement with Australia for at least one year if not two. But very short-lived either way.

Tomic got a WC into Queen's last year - I remember hoping at the time (somewhat forlornly) that it might be part of a swap, so with luck Wardy's WC here explains that one.

They got back on court very fast. Wardy held, Mayer held and then broke.
1-3*
Very odd serving stats (though it is early days) - 50% 1st serves in for James, 22% of points won when he gets his first serve in (1 ace + 1/8 others), 78% won when he doesn't (all but 1 df & 1/8 others)
