Yeah is there not only 2 SE spot's available usually? And if there are 3 eligible for a SE they give them to the two highest ranked out of the 3?

That's right. I guess with all the seeds dropping so early, there may well have been two people ranked ahead of Sajous (we know Dan was one of them) who were eligible.

There were indeed two potential SEs with higher rankings than Sajous - Smethurst and Bocko.
