RE: AEGON British Tour 2011 thread

Got the final of this tomorrow, i won my first match 60 62, and second match against Nicolas Rosenzweig 62 20 up and he pulled out. To be fair he said he was getting battered anyway.
i play whitbread tomorrow in the final as he won through today beating lloyd and then pritchard.

Good luck tomorrow - like indiana, I'd love to see you take this kind of form into Futures, health permitting!

i have been recently taking this form in any tournaments im playing, just right now there is none i can enter, i have the final tomorrow, then tipton british tour next week, then im away for french league for all of may doing french money tournaments between the matches. So im hoping to get together a kitty and then towards the second half of the year i can go away and play back to back futures for a while and really see what happens.

Regarding my scans i got given the all clear on monday after intensive heart scan.

Here's someone that's clearly under-ranked, but needs some funding to boost his ranking.

Someone somewhere should give Fitzy a fund to go out and get himself to the next level.

It's a no-brainer for me.

No doubt, Malteaser, but that someone has to be made aware of Fitzy's need in the first place... please.gif  In many ways, it presupposes the existence of people employed by commercial undertakings specifically to identify potential sporting sponsorship targets.  I imagine there are some, but assume that they are looking at practitioners of more high-profile sports/more obvious candidates within particular sports.  That said, I'd be interested to know how any outsider/potential target goes about securing full-time professional sports sponsorship.

Isn't there some sort of governing body that receives millions of pounds each year so that they can identify and support players like Fitzy? No, oh well.

Thanks for the messages, have good momentum at the moment.
Its a tricky one and you have raised a good point, if anyone comes up with anything then they can let me know as i am in need of someone throwing me a bone of some sort!
I genuinely believe i would take the opportunity given to me and rise up the rankings, either way im going to try to do it my own way. Cant sit back and rely on someones generosity. :)

Thanks for the feedback Fitzy. I can see from the LTA website that they have quite a few schemes running.

I guess that these are either not applicable or not helpful, which seems a shame.

One scheme seemed to say that they'll give you a bonus if you progress to the later stages. Which doesn't help you get there and pay the entry, whcih seems backwards (to me).

Another is only relevant to Team Aegon. Not sure if you are part of this?

I suspect you know all this already, but it was interesting to me that they are trying, even if perhaps not in the same way that, perhpas I would!!

Anyway, good luck with the funding, hope to see you flying up the rankings by the end of the year!!
