Chance for revenge, thats the best draw Heather could have got. Very impressed again with Heather today. When playing well clearly knows how to raise her game to get the job done whatever the standard of opposition. Katie well, inconsistent but still not a bad start to the year. Anne liked the way she accelerated at the end of the match, augurs well for the forseeable future.
9)Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP) v Romina Oprandi (ITA) (Q)Heather Watson (GBR) v (Q)Noppawan Lertcheewakarn (THA)
Not bad at all and good chance of at least GB revenge. Suarez Navarro has been moved to a 9th seed in place of Sevastova, the withdrawn no 5 seed.
Sevastova's withdrawal let Brianti back in as LL to lose to Sharapova by a similar game score to her earlier loss to Heather, but clearly Heather had softened her up
Kuznetsova (3), already through to R2, is the other seed in that quarter.
