i watched Shuai beating Kuznetsova earlier, she doesn't miss much and she finished the points well if Kuznetsova got out of position. It looks as if it could be a long match against Heather.

Anne has lost the first set 7-5, and it is 1-1 in the 2nd set.

Anne went down 5 & 3 in the end. A bit disappointing, but she will edge back into the top 120 next Monday, I think.

Heather meanwhile is virtual WR 148 and I don't think anyone can catch her this week

Winning five matches in a week is always good, especially without losing a set! I think her match against Peng is eminently winnable. I'd like Hev to make the most of her opportunity here. She is playing well, the draw has not been unkind. Does she play tomorrow (Thurs)? This is a joint tournament, so I think the women's final is usually on the Saturday.

A win would bag an additional 60 ranking points which would take her to around 138.

this usually means sponsorship (with Head) ran out, or she is trying new racquets.
