RE: 2011 GB Men and Women Singles Predictions Competition

Don't follow the Men's side as much as the Women's but have had a look at each of the players playing activity so here it goes.

Ward 190- I don't see Wardy going backwards as I think he's got a great attitude and appears quite strong mentally but I don't see a big rise either.

Boggo 255- Tough last year and he could easily smash this prediction out of the park but I think he will find it difficult to regain former glories.

Cox 340- Unbelievable year but given his lack of size and the fact he didn't have many wins over top 300 players don't see him continuing to rise.

Evans 325- Very tough year means there is plenty of room for improvement but inherent weaknesses in his mentality will make it tough for him to make that improvement.

Baker 305- Looking at his results with plenty of wins over higher ranked players and competitive performances in defeat he looks underranked at the moment hence I foresee a jump back up the rankings.

Milton 375- Similar to Coxy in that being a small bloke will find it difficult to make much more progress, but a great year should be followed up by a solid year.

Bally 75
Anne 100
Hev 110
Katie 195
Cav 205
Laura 110

just an idea, when everyone's predicted who wants to, someone could maybe do a table which lists each players highest/lowest and average predicted rank just out of interest?

A quick go at the averages, no doubt a few errors.  I also didn't bother with the posters names which, I probably should have done.

Averages at the end;

The averaged predictions should in theory be more accurate than any one individual's predictions.

And in fact should be very accurate indeed, if one accepts Surowiecki's hypothesis in The Wisdom of Crowds.
