I've always regarded Evo's good results when he's not under the LTA, followed by his poor form when he's taken back under their wings, as proof enough that the coaches aren't doing their job. You could say that it's a good kick that he needs, but shouldn't such highly paid pros be able to extract the best (or at least 80% of the best) out of their students? Plus Coxy used to be world's best 15 y.o. when he was in Spain. He became just another promising teenager roughly at the same time when he moved his base, I think.
Sorry, there's zero reason to believe that the system is good enough. Maybe the top foreign coaches don't turn rubbish, but the whole system doesn't change if there are six or seven top coaches, does it? I'll gain some faith the day LTA picks up a not so good 16 year old from a foreign academy and turns her/him into a world beater, thanks.
But paying the coaches according to performance isn't a great idea, of course. I just wish they wouldn't have "wasted" so much money by employing them in the first place and instead had used it to fund more tournaments.
Does anyone have a list of what 10k & 15k futures events pay in cash terms round by round? I'm wondering, when added to the new bonus scheme what they're worth to the unfunded players.

Bonus system is a good move! It's published and leaves no room for those in authority to be subjectiive!!!
Extremely good for those players who are good enough to be part of AEGON, as they stand good enough chance to win these bonus too......
2 words why you shouldn't cut a players funding too early:
Tobias Kamke (24yrs old)
21/12/09 254 20/12/10 67
prior to that his only time in the top 200 had been a brief 2 month stint in mid 08 maxing at 174.
Yes, the Newcomer of the Year ( as voted by ATP World Tour Players ) !
I have consistently said that the LTA seems to almost give uo on some of the top GB players ( and still some of the most likely to succeed ) too soon. We have lost so many of the GB higher ranked men's players too soon in the past.
Some of the words have changed recently to more sense and seeming realisation that particularly in the men's game many players do come through later, but have the true attitudes and actions really changed ?

it doesn't seem so Indy, as of the 'senior' men only Ward has been retained i believe, with Baker joining the list of Boggo, Blooms & Josh on the scrap heap. I think Evo is out purely for other reasons.
