I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this. One of my 'things to do' is to write a book. The theme of the struggle of a British tennis pro is something that has interested me for quite some time, hence following from afar the progress of British players on the Futures circuit.
If I ever get around to it , this is the sort of thing I'll need to plagiarise, so I'll try to remember to pass on some of the royalties!
You aren't the only one who's been thinking along those lines, SMC - it would be good to have a book of some of the crazy anecdotes from around the world that both gave the lie to the 'British tennis players have it easy' myth and fed some of the profits back to the players concerned, though I doubt it would sell enough copies to make a real difference.
No doubt you'll get around to it before I do anyway LOL
Anyway, this is a great idea, Fitzy - I've tweeted the link - 250 followers who should all be interested in GB tennis (else why are they following?!) and don't all check on here all the time - and I'll do the same for the more entertaining updates (if that's the right word to use) - I hope one of the journos gets interested and gives you a wider audience!

Thanks much appreciated. i just thought that the public and tennis fans needed a more indepth insight into the ins and outs of what goes on. the things that u wouldnt hear about unless someone on tour told u them!
I say it how it is and have always been honest, so i wont be shirking anything! im sure once it grows the info i leave on there will becoming more and more interesting. i think there is definitely an audience for it. its just letting them know im putting it on the web for them to read!
maybe someone will see it and take a different slant on the british get everything title as u say. As there are guys out there. i can only speak for myself, but who are grafting away with next to nothing and are doing their best to make it work.
I've given your blog a mention on my twitter (only 40 followers but most are tennis fans..) and look forward to reading further posts. And as a porridge eater I'll give your a recipe a try at the weekend
From a personal viewpoint I also think it would be great if you could include the occassional photo, especially when travelling to far-flung locations. I'm always fascinated to see clubs/courts in 'non-tennis' areas, such as Africa and central Asia (although european pics would also be welcome). I suppose it would be another great way to show the far from luxourious conditions that you guys play and live in when on the road.
Im new to the whole blog website but will upload pics and include any further informtation that you all would like to hear about. im sure where will come a stage where some things i hear and see might test my nerve in posting it online!
Im sure it will create a few laughs when i upload pictures of venues being contructed right up to the day of the first match!
I have bookmarked it too. Sounds like it will be very interesting. Of course (If/hopefully When) you rise up the rankings table you may have to become a bit more guarded and diplomatic about things.
Looks good. I used to enjoy Sarah's old blog on the lusciousmontenegro site a few years back, she said she was going to write a book but no idea if that's been shelved now she's living the high life lol.
Also bookmarked, looking forward to see the contrast in a few years when hopefully your up a fee levels and the borrowed shoes and odd socks will be a distant memory!
Fitzy, I tried twice to comment on an earlier post, just to provide feedback but they just did not register. I am not sure if that section is active or not but you are asking a lot of questions through the blog (which is excellent btw) and I dont think people can reply to them.
Odd - I did leave a comment on the Hadrian's Wall blog - that went through. But I see it is showing as the only comment on the entire thing, which definitely seems strange.
