RE: Week 45: Challenger - Loughborough (€42,500) (Hard)

Real pity for Fitzy, looks as if he again put in a very good performance.  Willis certainly seems to be in form here, though of course Smethurst has been out for a little while.

Willis and Thornley clearly didn't get the better spots in the main draw but let's hope they pull something out.

Played well game could have gone either way at 2-2 in third set Evo must have had at least 12 break points but everytime just couldnt finish it off.Played well but you could see a little bit of class at times from galvani, all through the match every time Evo got the net the other guy hit some great winners.Good effort from Evo.

First three men's MD singles results from the Beeb:

R1:  Henri Kontinen (FIN) defeated Timo Nieminen (FIN) by 3 & 2

R1:  Stefano Galvani (ITA) defeated (WC) Dan Evans by 3-6 7-5 6-3 cry

R1:  (Q) Max Raditschnigg (AUT) defeated Pavol Cervenak (SVK) by 6-7(7) 6-1 6-4

So, one minor upset thus far, but not the one we'd have liked... hmm

R1:  Jurgen Zopp (EST) defeated Flavio Cipolla (ITA) by 6-4 3-6 6-4

R1:  (5) Matthew Ebden (AUS) defeated David Goffin (BEL) by 3-6 6-1 7-5 furious

Just seen a post on menstennisforums re an email they are sending to the LTA.  It comes from a Brit. But folk from other countries have been expressing frustrations as well. Maybe the worst thing actually is it comes as no great surprise to me  and probably others on this forum. Maybe we should all bombard the LTA !!  Anyway the post goes....

Just sent the following email to the LTA:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to express the dissatisfaction of both myself and the wider global tennis-following community with the lack of information made available by the LTA about professional tournaments in the UK, in particular at Challenger level. I suggest that whoever receives this message should first read the following thread on an internet message board for tennis fans: http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=171062 - this should make many of the issues clear. It is quite incredible that for Challengers in countries such as Ecuador or Kazakhstan there are live scores available online and results are published within minutes of matches finishing, yet with UK Challengers we must wait for hours until the drawsheet is updated late in the evening, and along with many others I am baffled as to how this can be the case, as it would only take one member of staff a few seconds per match to simply write one line giving a result.

Any information you have on why this is the case or what steps are being taken to improve the situation would be much appreciated.
