i wonder how strong the Q draw will be, i can see it being either absolutely nails as people scramble for last min points or as weak as an American beer.

Why is Amanda seemingly obssessed with 10K Clay events? It's not going to give her many points or much progression. Surely she should be looking at 25Ks at least?

I don't really know anything about Amanda but we have to remember it's not always about instant points, it's about the long view, and maybe she feels her game will be helped better in the long run by this.

I hope so. She's not improved her ranking this year and from the outside looks as though she's in a bit of a 10K rut.

Amanda has played seven $25K events this year, but four of these have involved travelling outisde of Spain. As she prefers to play on Clay, and usually plays in Spain, this has limited her to $10K events. * I imagine the cost of playing any more events outside of Spain would be prohibitive.

* During 2010, Spain had (or will have) 17 clay $10K tournaments and just 1 $25K event.

If it's cost then that's totally understandable, but I would imagine some would argue that you have to speculate to...etc etc. Presumably the ITF profile which says she lives in the UK is wrong, given that she hasn't participated in any events here.

I think she lives in Gibralta, which as a British territory can be considered by some to be UK!

Yes, I knew that. I'm referring to the fact that the ITF list her residence as Bicester!
