RE: Week 44 - ITF ($50K+H) - Ismaning, Germany Carpet

I think something similar was said after her win in Italy on clay!

Carpet is quite a unique surface, only obvious reason I can think for this sudden upsurge in form.

Certainly hope it wasn't this, but always possible that for some reason Voegele played ****  smile   ( maybe she distinctly doesn't like carpet )

Be good if Naomi can follow on from this and have not just a good tournament here but a good end to the season .  Another win in R2 and she'll be verging on the top 200 again.

Remember that Mel South beat Vögele in R1 here last year too, so the Swiss girl has 'previous'. Nevertheless, a very encouraging win against a player she hadn't taken a set off in two previous meetings. smile.gif

Cav currently in action and she has just broken back to make it 4-4, first set.

A hold and another break and Cav takes the first set 6-4.

The last time I looked Cav was 4-2 up in set 2, and now the match has disappeared, so I'm guessing Cav is through to QF.

Let's hope so!

Btw, if you click the "Scorecards und Statistiken zum Download" on the "Beendet" (completed) tab, and then pick the last tournament on the dropdown list, you can get the full scoresheets for the completed matches - the one for the Vrljic match is "nicht verfügbar" (not available) yet but the one for the Vögele match is and it shows exactly how the match unfolded.

Wow, just has a look at the scorecard. That's a lot of data to keep!

It is, but I thought the old umpire's scoresheets were always like that - I assume now there is a quick way of tapping the details into a little keypad and those scorecards you can see have been produced from that.
