In the interview at the end she said she knew she had to come to the net more to change it up, and that she is confident in her volleying skills. She also said she has never player her opponent in the final, Alize Lim, before but she watched he match today.
The one thing I noticed from this match is Heather's skills at the net. She doesn't look stiff, very fluid and with soft hands.
Great great win by Heather, my picture wasn't great but the commentary was pretty good until, at 4-4 they decided to talk about Nestor and hadn't realised it was 15-40. The commentators were very complimentary about the quality of the match compared to the other semi, so Heather must go into the final a pretty solid favourite, having already won a final this year and excelling in the only other major final she has played in, the US open juniors. Fingers crossed.
I also liked the way Heather when asked if she would like to send a message to her British fans back home, was quick to point out that she came from Guernsey, clearly beyond proud of her Guernsey roots.
Does that now put her into contention for a Fed Cup spot ahead of Laura ?
Does that now put her into contention for a Fed Cup spot ahead of Laura ? Maybe for a few weeks, but once Laura disposes of Serena the pendulum will swing back the other way!

I sincerely hope that's not the kiss of death on her title chances!
