Good stuff from the Bogster - and those 3 points are probably going to save him from the ignominy of dropping out of the top 300 too, though he still needs to make up for most of the 18 points from Bratislava which are due off later this month if he wants to end the year with a ranking that starts with 2.

Good to see Boggo back in action and scoring some points again. Hopefully he will get either Cipolla or Vagnozzi in the main draw, an Italian clay courter on this surface would be very nice! Darcis and Bachinger would both be extremely tough matches
How long was the match? I think Alex would be pleased to have a day off tomorrow, matches on three consecutive days must have left him tired after his long layoff. Good result, lets hope he can continue and make some worthwhile points.
R32: (Q) Alex Bogdanovic WR 293 v Simone Vagnozzi (ITA) WR 178
Excellent first round draw for Boggo and a great chance at winning. The 27 year old Italian is enjoying a career year and looks set to finish within the top 200 for the first time. He is very much a Clay courter though, as, excluding Grand Slam Qualifying hasnt played on any other surface since March. Does have a good record against Brits this year though, beating Evans 1 and 2 in May in the semis of Italy F8 on clay and beating Slabba 1 and 3 in Bucharest qualifying in September
