Let's be fair . . . he was born in Germany; his mother is German; he moved back to Germany in 2004; and he practises in Hannover. It's hardly a stretch for him to play for Germany!
So why was he reportedly considering playing for GBR in the first place? Agree with RJA: hypocrite!
P.S. The Krauts must be as desperate as we are for a player who can bridge the gap between a top-ten player & the pack....

Yeah, sorry Count. Clearly he's got to take one match at a time after his injury. He must feel really good having come through his first match since the US open. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I'm sure we offered Dustin an attractive package - he could have done wonders for the British game andthe media would have a field day, esp at Wimbledon. There may have been constraints re. changing nationality, but sportsmen and women have adopted British nationality before. It seems to me that he is already quite German. His choice probably wasn't purely financial...A shame.
Johnny Mc was born in Germany, he could have played for them.....
Despite the higher prize money and points on offer in Astana, the doubles field is much stronger here:
(4) Johan Brunstrom & Dominic Inglot (SWE/GBR) v Richard Rerankis & Blaz Kavcic (LTU/SLO) (2) Jordan Kerr & Ken Skupski (AUS/GBR) v Jonny Marray & Jamie Delgado (GBR/GBR)
