I think one of Boggo's reasons for picking Aachen is that it carpet so he doesn't have to worry about a surface change (as Loughbrough is hard despite what ATP says).
Also last i heard is that AOQ is not on the agenda.
i think he's off to see his new best friend in Eckental now - the Physio.

Great win Boggo, has this win now solidified his position in the Top 300 end of year? Could be important with regards to Aus Open qualies
Pretty much
The QF win takes him up to 172 ranking points, currently equivalent to WR 266.
His only remaining points to defend this year are 18 points in a couple of weeks from last year's Britislava Challenger QF. Take these off and his lowest end year ranking points could be 154, currently equivalent to WR 284.
As Indiana's post implies, Boggo is 13-8 in Challenger semis, though 0-1 this year. He has never played Bemelmans by the looks of it but is 2-3 v Bozo (as mentioned above), which splits 0-3 in Challengers, 2-0 in ATP qualifying, oddly enough.
Both prospective opponents have removed seeds Alex has had grass court nightmares against - Bozo took out 4th seed Dimi in R1 and Bemelmans beat 5th seed Bolelli in R2.

Also last i heard is that AOQ is not on the agenda.
If Boggo is fit and well and if clearly into the qualifiers ( OK some ifs ) why would it not be on the agenda ?
Doesn't seem to tie in with his normal general desire to play at as high level as possible, eg Challengers and occasional ATP qulaifying without stepping down to futures.
Also he says he loves playing tennis and I always got the feeling he wanted to leave some mark of his worth. Not easy of course and a bit of a travel, but if he was clearly in and could play another one or two tournaments or qualifiers down under, why not ?
i think we may see a different approach next year. The AOQ thing has never really worked out for him and i think he's relaisng that if he is going to make it then he needs to try something different.
I think his plan is to spend longer training over the winter then play a run of events in the states, inc maybe some futures to start the year.

also so far this is the 1st year in how long that alex hasn't won a challenger..... will he be able to keep that trend up?
This is the first year since 2003 that Boggo hasn't won a Challenger (and currently the first year since 2002 that no Brit has won a Challenger and the first time for donkey's years that no Brit has reach a Challenger Final) - but at least he's now won 5 or more consecutive matches in at least one Challenger for the 7th year in a row!
In 2006-8, Boggo was responsible for all 5 British titles in Challengers.
His complete record in 156 Challengers before this week was:
R1 losses: 76 (49%) - 51% of R1 matches won R2 losses: 33 (21%) - 59% of R2 matches won QF losses: 26 (17%) - 45% of QF matches won SF losses: 8 (5%) - 62% of SF matches won FI losses: 4 (3%) - 69% of Finals won Titles: 9 (6% of all Challengers he has entered)
The odd thing, then, is that at Challenger level, Boggo is very much a big match player!

Another good win for Boggo yesterday, continuing a fantastic return from injury:
QF: (Q) Alex Bogdanovic WR 293 beat (Q) Bastian Knittel (GER) WR 236 by 1 and 4
SF: (Q) Alex Bogdanovic WR 293 v Ruben Bemelmans (BEL) WR 197
Bemelmans upset Bozoljac yesterday to reach his first Challenger SF of the year. Indeed prior to this week, his challenger record was a pretty dire 4-12. Most of his points have come from 3 Futures titles and qualifying and winning a round at the ATP 250 event in Bangkok. Hopefully a really good chance in this one for Boggo as the Belgian is pretty inexperienced at this level, this being only the 5th challenger SF of his career (a 2-2 record). They follow the first singles SF between Brown and Sijsling which starts at 15:00 local time.
