What do we know about Sam Murray? Assume she's been at uni as she hadn't played in 3 years til Barnstaple - but 1 top 500 win and another near miss on her 2nd tourny back is pretty impressive! What's the story??

Yes, I was wondering about her too, seeing an impressive win and tight loss against top 500 players.

Dug up her bio from Northwestern University in Illinois.  Looks fairly impressive :

Looking at her WTA profile, she has recently turned 23 ( dob 09/10/87 ), career high of WR 850 in September 2006, aged 18.  Last pro matches apparently before her recent Barnstaple qualifying appearance, Felixstowe 25K qualifying and Frinton 10K in July 2007.

Well, at least by not getting a WC and having to qualify if she wins at least one main draw round ( which in drawing Jess Ren she clearly has a good chance of doing ) she picks up a whole extra ranking point.  Bit strange though she didn't get a WC, though I guess she's had a few.

Typical Cav performance I'm afraid, so obvious whats shes got to work on... FITNESS !!.
Daneika lost first set 7-6 after serving for it 5-3, still though a decent effort so far.

This Bergot is becoming a bit of a pain. furious She's 25 and at a career high at the moment. She first played a Brit (in singles) in Dijon last year, losing in 3 sets to Amanda Elliott but has gone on a 7-match Brit-bashing streak this year, with her wins tending to get more impressive as she goes along - the last four before today were a 6 & 6 win v Carreras, an 0 & 1 thrashing of Tara Moore, a 3-set win against Laura and a convincing 4 & 2 win against Katie in July.

Daneika fell away in the second unfortunately but still in a stronger position than this time last year, but a very good win for Anna and a top 400 ranking well within her grasp in the short/medium term.
