Isn't this a $15k rather than a $10k event? Certainly the draw strength would suggest so!

It is 15K

Yep.  Steven, could you change the title?

Never underestimate the LTA's ability to shaft our players.

They've given a WC to Ebden? bleh Why?!

It's bad enough giving them to Brits who would have got in direct had they bothered to enter (though I realise that there are sometimes valid reasons for not entering when they thought they would be somewhere else and have then, though injury or whatever, ended up in the UK unexpectedly) but to give it to an Aussie who shouldn't even be playing Futures any more in the first place,

Is this some masterplan to get on the Aussies' good side so that they agree to do a WC swap. Maybe they also instructed all the British players to lose to Aussies at the CWG just to make sure, but forgot to tell Flembo & Joss ...

I'm sure that last paragraph is all rubbish, but what explanation can they possibly have?

Ebden WC - LTA decided futures make it too easy for our players to earn a living, so as a continuation of the scrapping challengers policy in future a WC will be giving out to a top 200 foreign player at home futures to make sure our players really earn their points.
