What a shocker the first result is disbelief ... as is the fact that apparently that I managed to miss two Brits ashamed oh well, it was a bit late at night ...

The ill luck continues in the doubles:

(WC) Nikko Madregallejo & Spencer Papa (USA/USA) UNR vs Jordan Cox (USA) & Matt Short WR 2434

Federico Chavarria & Andrei Daescu (CRC/ROU) UNR vs (2) Roman Borvanov (MDA) & Chris Eaton WR 954

The winners of those two encounters play one another! disbelief

L16: (8) Chris Eaton WR 561 v Miguel-Angel Reyes-Varela (MEX) WR 871

Short plays Stoppini tomorrow. Reyes-Varela, who like Chris has a much higher doubles ranking (364) hasn't played a Brit in singles since he beat Matthew Hanlin 3 & 1 in Futures qualifying in Mexico in 2005.

The Mexican top seeds, Díaz & Reyes (WR 717), were taken out by the Indo-Australian pair, Singh & Maher (WR 1568), yesterday, which means that Chris & Roman are the only seeded pair left standing...

L16:  Miguel-Angel Reyes (MEX) WR 871 lost to (8) Chris Eaton WR 561 by 6-4 0-6 6-7(5) biggrin

QF:  Andrea Collarini (USA) WR 562 vs (8) Chris Eaton WR 561

Chris must fancy his chances a bit there.  That said, Collarini downed the Russian top seed, Artem Sitak (WR 324), by 6-3 3-6 6-2 yesterday... pray.gif

Great day for Chris.

Collarini is another youngster who tends to win the majority of his matches on clay so hopefully Chris can just hit through him

Zavala beat Chris in the dubs last week but with a different partner, I'm sure Chris and his partner are very capable of taking them.

Another solid win for Chris!

Beats Collarini 6-4 6-3

Plays Jordan Cox in the semi, who i know is a young talent.
Matthew Short got him to 3 and 5 so hopefully you'd expect Chris to do better.

Unfortunately lost his dubs match in two tiebreaks 7-6 (3) 7-6 (0)

Just noticed that David Rice has beaten him a couple of times and Chris has beaten him in the dubs this week so heres hoping for Chris's second final of the year since Glasgow right at the start.
