Very encouraging performance. It would have been easy to fall away after losing the first set, wihere she had so many breakpoints and setpoints, but she buckled down and played disciplined tennis sprinkled with some potent forehand winners. It means she bookends the season with WTA semifinals, and one more win here would almost certainly be enough to make the Australian Open main draw.

Great result for Anne. We know she has the ability and I am sure Anne knows she has but this week shows that she has the spirit as well to get back into the top 100 and who knows.........maybe even the top 50-60 as before.
Very impressive, and in my opinion playing better than yesterday. She was the better player throughout the whole match, somehow managing to lose the first set which she dominated. Her footwork was very good which resulted in her making far less mistakes than has been the case throughout most of this year. Very exciting times for Annie K.
She was quite lucky at least to be playing the second doubles match and the first one is not exactly racing - though I suppose you can't really relax 'cos you never know if a match is likely to finish quickly or not. At least she and Sarah seem to have great fun playing together, so that is really a plus, like someone else said, for keeping her positive this tournament.
She tweeted something about sore feet though, and that is something that is not easy to remedy quickly I would think.
