Anne was very good, Schnyder looked disinterested and was very poor.
Benesova has been out of sorts recently so if Anne can repeat her level of performance from today I can see this being a tight match.

Anne did play well but Schnyder was clearly having one of her 'can't be bothered' days.

Looking at the draw, if Anne plays at her best it wouldn't be impossible for her to make her maiden final

I've never quite "got" Schnyder.

She seems to have days where I wonder why she bothers stepping onto the court.

Still a good win for Anne and with her QF record you have to fancy her to progress. Saving a break point at 5-5 in the first set was probably crucial, but her best point was probably to break for 4-4 with a blistering forehand.

Schnyder has always been an enigma - wonderful to watch when she is in the mood to apply her prodigious talent, and so frustrating when she can't be bothered. At least she has been good for Brits having failed to win a set against any of the 3 Brits she has played in ITF or WtA events (though she did beat Katie in Fed Cup).

Tomorrow's oop sees Anne play first at 1pm BST with her doubles quarter-final with Sarah against Hercog/Martic following after rest on the other court

Thanks, more an interesting general round-up with a couple of paragraphs on Anne's injury problems and how chuffed she was to beat Patty.

Benesova takes it on the Tie Break 7 to 3. It's quite infuriating to watch, Anne should have grabbed that set

Just come back in and see that Anne is a break up in the second 4-2* and with another 2 BPs.
