Anne was very good, Schnyder looked disinterested and was very poor. Benesova has been out of sorts recently so if Anne can repeat her level of performance from today I can see this being a tight match.
She seems to have days where I wonder why she bothers stepping onto the court.
Still a good win for Anne and with her QF record you have to fancy her to progress. Saving a break point at 5-5 in the first set was probably crucial, but her best point was probably to break for 4-4 with a blistering forehand.

Schnyder has always been an enigma - wonderful to watch when she is in the mood to apply her prodigious talent, and so frustrating when she can't be bothered. At least she has been good for Brits having failed to win a set against any of the 3 Brits she has played in ITF or WtA events (though she did beat Katie in Fed Cup).
Tomorrow's oop sees Anne play first at 1pm BST with her doubles quarter-final with Sarah against Hercog/Martic following after rest on the other court
