I once saw a match involving Anke Huber (then WTA top 10) which started with 8 consecutive breaks, and I think one of Katie's sets 2 or 3 years ago had 12 if I read the report correctly!

My guess is that Bally's performance has been affected by an injury, which was alleviated by treatment at the end of the first set
