Tal, btw, is 42 and his recorded Futures match in the last decade was a 1 & 0 loss to Emmett A Egger (USA) UNR in QR1 in Costa Mesa last month!

Tal does however have a career high of 439 ... but that's in in seniors (over 40)

Hopefully the Baker will be cooking up some bakery products!

Its a shame (pts wise) that the cut for main draw was normal here whilst qulies in Rennes and Tashkent (both bigger events) look so much softer.

Match on then, between two players who certainly seem to be heading in different directions just now, and who may well be ranked very close to each other in a couple of weeks time.
