LS nearly gave me a heart attack:  started showing 5-5 in the second, but then reverted to 6-4 to our two! disbelief

Yes!  Hutch & Jamie are the winner.gifs by 2-6 6-4 [10-8]! biggrin

No doubt someone can tell me how long it is since either claimed a title - much longer for Ross than for Jamie, methinks.  Perhaps someone can also say whether it's the first time they've played together competively.  I'm too bloody lazy to check myself. wink

Well done guys   clap.gif

Yes, Jamie has a more recent title than Ross.  Jamie's last title was the Astana Challenger in Kazakhstan last November with Jonny Marray, so got in his title defense before these points come off.  Ross's last title was the Beijing ATP in September 2008 with Stephen Huss.

As far as I can see they have played 5 times professionally together.

The last two were Davis Cup ties in 2008, losing in WG match in Argentina vs Acasuso and Nalbandian and against Austria in the WG play-off vs Knowles and Melzer, both in sraight sets. Gee we were in the World Group as recently as 2008  hmm.gif

The previous 3 occasions date back to futures towards the end of 2005, won 2 futures titles in GB and Canada and reached the semis in Canada on the other occasion.  So of the tournaments they have entered together that's 3 titles in 4 attempts  smile

Cheers, Indy.  I knew someone would come up trumps! wink

I could perhaps have made myself clearer when I asked about competitive appearances together as a pair:  I had a vague recollection that they'd partnered one another in the DC.  I was alluding more to tournament play.  Not a bad record, all things considered.   I wonder...

Jamie and Jonny won two titles together at the beginning of the year...

Challenger title #6 for Ross, #9 for Jamie.

Oops, quite right wolf re Jamie's two titles at the beginning of the year.  I  did look at his ranking points with dates etc but somehow my eyes and / or brain clearly weren't in much working order at the time  hmm.gif

Fate not tempted - double win for the Murray brothers.

Well done to Jamie and Ross - everything good for Jamie at the moment.

smile.gif and before that it was week 44, 2009, when Andy won Valencia ATP and Jamie won the Astana Challenger with Jonny Marray. They also did it in 2008, in week 7 when Andy won Marseille ATP and Jamie won Delray Beach ATP with Max Mirnyi, and in 2007 when Andy won San Jose ATP and Jamie won the doubles at the same event with Eric Butorac.

They were also close to doing it in 2008 at the US Open, where Andy lost in the singles final while Jamie lost in the mixed doubles final.
