What a shame, but really glad she salvaged some pride at the end of the match. Nice exchange at the end of the match between both players. Anne did not deserve to be 6-0 5-0 down so no surprise to see her finally get some reward out of the match. Her serve got better at the end but she doesn't have any margin for error on her shots and against a player with good defence she tended to come out of most long rallies the loser.
I'd agree that Petkovic's speed meant Anne ended up losing points she would have won against less agile opponents, yet I'm not sure there was an alternative plan should could have gone with. If she hadn't really gone for it and tried to dictate points then Petkovic would have been all over her and hit balls she couldn't get back into play.
Encouraging signs, hopefully any feelings of disappointment will spur her onto get back to her best.

A disappointing day for Anne, considering this was a very winnable match. A relief that she at least managed to win three games late on in her singles to avoid another psychological scar, like against Safina.
