How on earth can Larriere lose to Nik Slater in April then beat Cav in October?! cry.gif

Larriere did defeat Sacha Jones a few weeks back so clearly has some ability.

Naomi withdrew today from next week's tournament in Mount Gambier, so I suspect an injury perhaps?

Whatever has happened here and caused Cav to withdraw next week, it's a real pity   cry   There appeared a very fair chance she could get herself back into the top 200 if she could have carried on getting decent points in her Aussie trip against not the greatest of opposition.

Maybe she's injured herself running into the WR 200 wall that I'd previuosly specualted had taken out Laura earlier in the week  hmm.gif   Laura's problem  was nothing very serious and of course I hope that if it is injury that Cav is back playing soon.

Good to see Mel get another resounding win, she certainly seems to have found some better form down under.

SF: (3) Melanie South v Victoria Larriere (FRA)

Lets hope Mel can avenge Naomi's defeat and get the chance to play for a title she won in 2008

Good stuff.  A third semi in 4 Aussie tournaments.  Hopefully Mel can make the final this time and then go for the title.

That win takes Mel's points collected so far in these 4 tournaments ( and another one to come next week ) to 86, which is more than the 82 ( counting ) ranking points she had accumulated in the whole of 2010 before her trip down under.

She still has 46 points to defend from last year but basically if she can go into 2011 in better form and picking up good points she is giving herself a very good base to rise up the rankings again.

Just found livescores of Mel's match v Larriere on bet365.

Currently 6-4 1-6 6-6 and 1-2 in the TB, not sure who's serving.

Both players have served for the match, Mel at 5-3 and Larriere at 6-5.

Now 1-5 in the TB cry.gif
